What is heated oxygen yoga?
Simply put, it is a kind of yoga exercise to be taken a warmed and oxygenated environment. Generally, the temperature shall be controlled to a range of 38-42℃. The heated oxygen yoga has 26 movements which were developed on the basis of the traditional yoga and appropriately arranged in an order according to the traits of the muscles, ligaments and tendons. The 26 movements are mainly stretch movements, including lying on back, standing and sitting cross-legged. The twisting, bending and stretching static movements can directly stimulate the nervous and muscular system and improve the spinal softness, especially suitable for the office workers. In addition to the benefit of weight loss, regular heated oxygen yoga exercise helps recover the gland function, thus having therapeutic effect in insomnia, hemicrania, waist & back pains, cervical spondylosis and gastric & intestinal diseases.
Heated oxygen yoga is an upgraded version of high temperature yoga (Bikram's yoga). High temperature yoga, created by the Indian yoga master Bikam Choudhury and his wife, is popular now in the western countries.
26 fixed yoga positions are expected to be completed in 60 minutes while the indoor temperature stays at 42℃. Due to the high temperature environment, Bikram's yoga tends to achieve better result compared to the yoga exercise at normal temperature. But currently, the common Bikram's yoga rooms have 3 material disadvantages: non-circulating air, low relative humidity, low negative oxygen ion content and high free radical content, which will mean side effects. The Physical Club Bikram's yoga room overcomes the disadvantages mentioned above by heating the room air to around 38-42℃ in a scientific way and injecting as high as 85% of high concentration negative oxygen into the air.
